We are proud to be apart of the Rearing To Go – Community Art Round Up project.
On February 22, corporate donors, artists, rodeo and art supporters alike gathered at the Northern Hotel to celebrate the arrival of the first of many 10 foot rearing fiberglass stallions. a noted artist from Loveland, designed and painted the first horse, named “Buster” for the Colorado Welcome Center in Fort Collins.
The Qualifier at the Fort (Ft. Collins very own pro rodeo event) is working in conjunction with the Fort Collins Convention and Visitors Bureau, Arts Alive, UniverCity Connections, the Downtown Business Association, Art in Public Places, the City of Fort Collins as well as a growing group of supporters to bring these beautiful horses to town.
These horses will combine the western heritage of the Front Range with the thriving art culture of Fort Collins. There sale will help to support culture, tourism and artists by assisting Arts Alive function as the Arts Council and to give area artists much needed support and business building resources.
Sponsors are given the opportunity to select from 30 talented artists and their designs and work with them to bring this vision into reality. These horses will be on a 60 day temporary display throughout the city and surrounding area. They will then be placed at permanent locations. The horses’ owners can choose to have them listed on the Convention and Visitors Bureau self guided tour maps for residents and visitors to enjoy.
